Features

Zutto turns the vocab sheets from your class into short daily reviews. Here is everything it does, in one place.

Available now in the beta

Photograph your sheets

Take a photo of a vocab sheet and Zutto reads the words. Nothing counts until you have checked it.

Phone photos (including HEIC) work, and location data is removed from every photo. Rows that look wrong are flagged so you know where to look.

Checking the words read from a photographed sheet: row 2, 魚, is flagged because its reading must be kana

Lessons and reviews

Short daily reviews in both directions: the meaning from the Japanese, and the Japanese from the meaning.

Romaji turns into kana as you type, and small typos and synonyms are accepted.

Skip what you know

Mark the words you already know. They come back now and then instead of every day.

Per word, and you can change your mind.

A dialog asking “Mark 食べる as known?”, saying it skips its lesson and comes back for review in about a week

Look words up

Search the dictionary by kanji, kana, romaji or English.

Dictionary search for 食べる with 3 results; the first is 食べる, たべる, to eat

Bring your Anki decks

Import vocabulary decks you already have.

The words come across; your Anki review history does not.

The Anki deck import summary: 3 created, 1 linked to an existing word, 0 already imported, 1 skipped

Your own pace

Set how many new words you start each day and how many come in a lesson. Reviews are spaced for you.
